After nearly a decade as an educator, I left the classroom in March 2025 to fully embrace modeling as my art. My background in ballet and opera informs the way I inhabit space and shape emotion through the body, while my years of teaching instilled a discipline and clarity that ground my practice. Modeling, for me, is not about appearance but about artistic presence — a performance that embodies liberation, vulnerability, and strength. Each image I create is both collaboration and artwork, inviting viewers to see the body as fluid, poetic, and uncontained.

This cover shot was my favorite out of the entire series - it felt like my prayer and my spirit came to life. I prayed in that moment, and after the shutter went off, for 5 seconds I violently flapped my arms like a bird’s wings.
And it looked like my prayer has come to life with wings to soar high up into the heavens.

We would first begin with my still position and Orion would take a picture of it. And I had 5 seconds to do a movement to portray these images that look like remnants of the spirits that came out of my pose.
We soon figured out that as soon as the camera took that initial shot, I would have to do a dynamic burst of movement immediately afterwards to make it look like this.
We created art that day, we did not expect the photos to turn out so ethereal.

About Me
Minnie Lee is a Korean model and multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. Her practice explores the intersection of body, movement, and presence, using modeling as both medium and performance. Through her collaborations with photographers, designers, and visual artists, Minnie transforms the camera into a site of dialogue—between stillness and expression, vulnerability and strength.
Her work is guided by a desire to liberate both subject and viewer from fixed ideals of beauty and identity. Each image inhabits becomes an invitation to see the body not as object, but as living form - dynamic, fluid, and uncontained. Inspired by her background in ballet, opera, and performance, Minnie brings an intuitive sense of rhythm and emotional depth to her modeling, creating images that resonate beyond the surface.
